Happy Tuesday… Here’s a poem for today. It’s a piece from my book “Dante’s Poetry Lounge.” It’s a trip sometimes to revisit some old poems and remember when and why you wrote them…
Also, for those who have asked about the poem I did in, “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” with Nic Cannon… Here it is… the film edited it down and here is the full version.
Hope you enjoy…

You deliver this piece in a really heartfelt way, and there’s something rather refreshing about it, too. Perhaps it’s the honesty. Thanks for sharing.
You inspire your fellow poets.

Your flow in poetry is amazing to me. The story you tell becomes so clear, I can see it all. The poor girl being socked in the jaw, your fathers smile in his eye. Maybe it’s because these are the types of events that can happen to anyone growing up, or falling in love, but I think it’s because you have a gift. You have the gift of being able to bring a story to life and I wanted to say thank you. I live in Toronto but if I ever make it to LA I will definitely check out the Da Poetry Lounge.
Personal request: I would love to hear your poem Nikki again
Please continue to post the awesome work.
